Here at Rightway we are gearing up for the Queensland Government's annual Road Safety Week, taking place 22 - 28 August 2016. There are going to be a whole range of activities happening during next week to raise awareness about the topic of road safety, including events such as BBQ's, information sessions and workshops, markets, meet and greets, competitions and more.  The theme this year is Speak Up for Road Safety, which aims to encourage everyone to share their thoughts and feelings on how we can all work together to reduce the Queensland road toll and ultimately make the roads a safer place for all.  There are numerous ways to take part and everyone can participate with competitions such as the #SpeakUpSelfie to go into the draw to win personalized number plates, and the children 'Road Safety in my Town' coloring competition to win an iPad for themselves and their class.  Alternatively, you can participate in the week's festivities as easily as driving safely when you get in your car.

If you want to know how to get involved, visit theJoin the Drive website for more information.  Additionally, if you have any questions about road safety in general, we are always happy to answer any questions you might have, all year round.  We will be supporting and encouraging everyone to get involved next week with this initiative as it shares a sentiment that is very close to our own brand motto, "safe driving, for life", were not just about lifelong safe driving skills, but also preserving lives on the road through reduced fatalities from safer driving habits.

Below are some resources that have been produced by the Road Safety Section of the Department of Transport and Main Roads to think about.

Leave a comment and tell us how you're going to participate in Road Safety Week!  #JoinTheDrive
